Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

A Step in Faith

Don’t know what’s next?

Step of Faith

Me either.

I have no clue.

I mean right now…

As I type these words…

I don’t know what I’ll write next.

Usually a topic has been rolling around in my head for several days.

Today… not so much.

So I am taking the only step I can…

The first step…

A step in faith …

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase… Martin Luther King

I can’t see the whole staircase or the whole post…

I’m putting my faith and hope in God…

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Right now, a post is something I can’t see…

How often it would be easier to just surrender to the fear of failure…

But Faith reminds us who walks with us…

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”  Deuteronomy 31:8

Today I am worried about a post…

But there are so many things to worry about…

Sometimes I worry about money…

Maybe that’s because I put my faith in money instead of God…

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Hebrews 13:5

“I will never leave you”…

Believing those words is the basis of faith…

Believing those words frees me from relying on ourselves…

Or the world….

Or any worldly outcome.

Because we have faith in the ultimate outcome…

And in the God who gives it…

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

I had no post today…

So I took a step in faith …

I wrote in faith…

About faith…

Maybe that’s what God wanted all along.

What about you?

What’s your faith story?

When have you taken a step in faith?

A step that relied on God?
