Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

Send Me

…“Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8

“Climb in all the way!” we call…

Send me

“Get in the bouncy house…”

My wife and I look at each other…

Maybe our idea wasn’t so great after all…

We’ve brought our two-year-old grandson to the ‘bouncy house place” in the mall.

“When will he get in the bouncy house?” we wonder…

“When will he start having fun?”

He runs from one bouncy house to the next…

He climbs up the entrance to one bouncy house…

He’s almost in the house…

Then he slides back down and runs to the next one…

When will he start having fun?

Wait…

He is having fun.

He’s laughing…

Running..

Playing…

Sliding…

I’m the one who thought the fun didn’t start until he got inside the bouncy house…

He’s having fun on the way in and on the way out of the bouncy houses…

Because he knows it’s all playtime!

I need to be more like my grandson.

Consider my relationship with God…

I wait for my time with God to begin…

Talking about the next life and the next world…

Looking past this world and this life.

I think about spending eternity with God…

As if I weren’t already.

Forgetting that a God who is with us always …

Never will I leave you.  Never will I forsake you… Hebrews 13:5

Is with us now…

… the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

That He loves us now…

… God is love.  1 John 4:8

And calls us to love him now…

….“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind…

Calls us to action now…

…and (love) your neighbor as yourself.”  Luke 10:27

Could God be saying…

Jump right in…

Join the fun today?

Will we hear Him when he calls?

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?”

How will we answer?

Will we serve him here, now, in this life?

Will we say…

…“Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
