When God changes everything

When God Changes Everything

A loud noise…

When God changes everything

As my watch hits the floor.

In the dark…

Half asleep…

I reach out for the nightstand that should have caught the watch …

Nothing.

Oh.

We moved the nightstand.

Morning arrives.

The alarm rings…

Walking out of the bedroom…

I unconsciously move to the left..

Avoiding a table that sat there until yesterday.

As I walk into the family room…

I reach out to set my cell phone on the table that’s been there for 20 years…

My cell phone hits the floor.

Why, I wonder, did we move the furniture?

Change is difficult.

So often it’s more than furniture.

Sometimes, God changes everything…

Think about the Israelites…

God freed them from the Egyptians…

But change is frightening…

And when things didn’t work they way they expected…

They cried out for the familiar…

…“If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted… Exodus 16:3

Forgetting that even when God changes everything around us…

For He is the same forever and ever…

When God Changes everything …

When God changes our health…

Or our wealth…

Our job…

 Or our family…

When we cry out to Him…

…I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help… Psalm 18:6

He hears our cries…

… if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.  1 John 5:14

And He answers, telling us to trust Him instead of fearing our circumstances…

… Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

For His love…

Love that will never change…

Has changed everything for us…

Forever…

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

  1. Even though it may seem that we cannot handle what changes come our way, God knows the path for us and we as his children should obey his plan and have faith. He knows what is best for our lives.
