There are so many ways to learn life lessons…
For instance…
-
Reading and studying the Bible…
-
Reading deep and thoughtful books, written by deep and thoughtful people…
Either one of those ways sound like a lot work to me today.
There’s another way to learn life lessons…
An easier way…
Watching the children in our lives…
It’s amazing how easy it is to learn life lessons from kids…
Because kids are smarter than grown-ups.
Here are 7 life lessons learned from the kids in my life…
1. Always run full speed…
Even if it’s only down the sidewalk…
Because you never know what joy you might find at the end of your race…
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
2. Never miss a chance to blow out birthday candles…
Even if it’s somebody else’s birthday…
3. When you blow out the candles…remember God gave you another year for a reason…
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11
4. On days when we think we are driving the boat, it’s good to remember the truth…
We’re really only passengers…
The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9
5. Either way, enjoy the ride, and smile…
6. Smile…
7. Smile from the inside out…
A glad heart makes a cheerful face…Proverbs 15:13
