I did not want to get out of bed when the alarm rang.
It was still dark and cold outside.
Going to work? Spending the day behind a desk?
There were other things I wanted to do today…
In fact there were other things I wanted to do with my life.
But I told myself….
I don’t have time for that…
I have to earn a living…
I’ve got a family to support…
Stop dreaming…
I even thought of a Bible verse (taken completely out of context) to chase my dream out of my mind…
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. ~1 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV)
Ever had thoughts like those? Do you have a dream based on how God made you?
Are you pursuing it? It may be difficult. It may require sacrifice. But if the dream is from God, you must pursue it.
Here are two blog posts to help…
Kurt Bubna, blogger, author, speaker and pastor of a church in Spokane, Washington asks, “Have you found your treasure yet?”
Once you find your treasure-the gift God gave you to bring glory to Himself-you have to pursue it.
Consider:
If you have a God inspired dream, there are two choices:
Pursue the dream, or let the dream pursue you.
It is better to be the pursuer than then the pursued.
The dream that hunts you today, that creeps into the corners of your mind in the early morning hours, can become the dream that haunts you tomorrow with thoughts of what might have been.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
