Typical early morning rush…
Not enough time…
Breakfast…
Getting Dressed…
“Got to get on with the business of the day!” my wife says as she vanishes out the door….
Our days are so filled with our own business…
Or perhaps with our own busyness…
How do we find time to do God’s business ?
Paul said we should imitate Christ…
Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1
How do we imitate Christ as we go about the business of the day?
Do we imitate Christ by loving God?
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Mark 12:30
By loving others?
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34
By serving others?
And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:35
The highest form of worship is the worship of unselfish Christian service. The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless. Billy Graham
By forgiving others?
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Colossians 3:13
Do we imitate Christ by following the will of God?
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. John 6:38
And what is God’s will for us?
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
If we do those things, perhaps then we will know that we are about God’s business …
Then we will be able to say with Jesus…
Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Luke 2:49
