And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37
My family came to see me last night…
Here are the pictures…
We had a great time…
Grilling…
Talking…
Eating…
Talking…
Playing with the kids…
Talking…
Playing the new they gave me for Fathers’ Day…
It was a great night…
I planned to take pictures to share on Facebook…
But I was too busy living the moment to stop and take pictures.
We have to stop what we’re doing to take pictures.
“Stop!” we say…
“Look at the camera!”
My two-year-old grandson now does those things automatically.
Point a camera at him…
He stops what he’s doing…
Looks at the camera, smiles and says, “Cheese!”
Does God want us to stop living full out for Him to record our accomplishments?
I’m not trying to convince anyone to stop taking pictures.
My cell phone is full of pictures. (Want to see my grandkids?)
And I plan to take lots more…
But last night was a reminder…
A reminder that God doesn’t look at our social media page…
He looks at our hearts…
…The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
He looks at our heart and searches not for our accomplishments…
But for love…
Love that never stops…
Love that never ends…
Love … always perseveres.
Love never fails…
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:6-13
Maybe that’s what it means to live a life full out for God…
To live a life in which we never stop sharing love…
God’s love…
A love which is His very being…
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8
