Two women sit in the corner of the room…
Tears stream down one woman’s face…
She reaches for another tissue…
Her shoulders shake silently…
Words emerge shakily between the tears…
“My life is over,” she says.
“ God has deserted me …”
“God has no plans for me…”
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:11-12
“I’m all used up.”
Her friend takes her hand…
“Do you believe in Jesus?
“Yes.”
“Do you know what he did for you on the cross?”
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17
“Yes, I do.”
“Then you are Jesus’ sister.”
“You are a child of God…”
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, Galatians 3:26
“One of my favorite Bible verses is…”
… In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
“If Jesus has overcome the world, so have you…”
She wipes a final tear from her eye…
And tries her best to smile.
Note: This story was told to me by the participants. I’ve left our identifying details and repeat it here as a reminder to all of us who
sometimes think “ God has deserted me …”
A reminder that He is always with us…
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
And that absolutely nothing can separate us from His love…
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
One thought on “Top 6 Bible Verses-God has Deserted Me …”
Absolute truth, been in this, have felt, not wanted nor loved, nor forgiven, especially when ever sinned again. Woe is me as in Isaiah 6:1-6, just floors me, to see even though I have sinned again, even over in the same lust of this world, he, God Father by Son remains in the forgiveness given to us by Son as approved as forgiven, in his Son’s death, that is done for us all. To turn to Father in thanksgiving and praise, all sin taken away as far as the east is from the west. Psalms 103:12 tells me this, from David who saw this, before it ever took place. To receive this from Father as Isaiah did, and prophesied about Jesus’s coming then. Today has been here and done the work needed for us to be able to enter in as if never sinned.
That is what turns me from sin, this being forgiven, even if I do sin again. To see from Father’s view through Son, I am still forgiven. Turns me to see how to say no to unrighteousness, not by my efforts, by his done work of Son once for everyone.
This is so not able to fathom, for only Father himself can reveal this in Spirit and Truth to each of us personally first, Then we get taught new by Father himself in Spirit and Truth through his Risen Son Jesus for us to be new in the Risen Life4, not the dead one religion preaches of.
Where the enemies of God have got control of flesh nature to cause as much out of alignment as possible
