One red leaf…
A hint of things to come …
Soon the whole bush will burn red…
And summer will end.
On a nearby tree…
A single branch of yellow leaves …
Framed by dark green summer leaves…
Another hint of things to come .
On the lake…
A few geese gather…
Soon a few will become a flock …
Flying every morning in wider and wider circles.
Until one day…
Their flight will not bring them back to where they began.
But today…
The geese waddle along the shoreline and drift peacefully across the lake…
The leaves shine a deep, deep green…
Porch petunias bloom…
The temperature is 86…
The humidity is high…
An afternoon thunderstorm is predicted…
It is summer still.
I will enjoy this summer day…
This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Live fully in it and each day that follows…
As summer becomes fall…
As fall becomes winter…

Not knowing the exact day the leaves will turn colors or the geese will leave…
