A simple plan…
A timeline…
9:05-Call the support desk.
9:15 AM…Computer problem solved…
That was the plan…
Here’s what happened…
9:00-Call support…
10:00- After an hour on the phone, support says, “This is a complicated problem…”
“I’ll connect you to level two…”
11:00 AM- After another hour, Level 2 says, “This is a complicated problem…
12:00 Noon-Level 2 says, “Let me consult my colleagues.”
1:00 PM-My stomach says, “I’m hungry!”
Level two says, “Let’s try another approach…”
2:00 PM- My stomach says, “I give up!”
3:00 PM- Level two says, “Here’s something that might work…”
“Might work?”
“Patience,” my brain counsels…
“Patience?!” my impatient self silently exclaims…
“I’d need the patience of Job …”
The patience of Job …
Why did Job have such patience?
Because Job had faith…
For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me! Job 19:25-27
Job’s patience was grounded in his faith…
And focused on God…
God…
Whose patience is infinite…
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
God…
Whose patience is rooted in His deep love…
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
God…
Who commands us to live in His love…
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength…‘Love your neighbor as yourself… Mark 12:30-31
And in His patience…
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him… Psalm 37:7

Bob, Brother, Thank You for the reminder, God is good all the time, as well as all the time God is good. To add a verse would be James 1:2 count it all joy, whenever enter into divers temptations. What? Count it joy, whenever I go through any and all adversities.
I see this, I do not at the first sight of troubles, count it all joy. For this unredeemed body I am in, that I do not trust, predictably responds to adversities in a terrible way.
And I have found out I can’t control it, only God can teach me how to stand in trust to his love, no matter what. To see this only comes from God Father of risen Son. Not tat I know or have gained, BUTT God has and it is done for us all to turn to God in trust Son is risen for us to stand in
Thank you much for writing as led to write.
Bob
Good verses, James 1:2…It’s hard to think of troubles as joyful events, isn’t it?
I know it is difficult for me to think that way. I suppose that just shows that my focus is too often on the things of this world, rather than on the promises of God!
