Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

Everything Has To Be Perfect…

“Pictures,” said the real estate agent…

perfect

“…are the key to selling your house…”

“Without pictures on the internet, you won’t have any lookers…”

“Without lookers, you won’t have a buyer…”

My daughter and her husband are selling their house…

Their agent’s instructions were specific…

“Rent one of those pack-and-haul trailers.”

“Load it with all of your personal things.  Have them hauled away.”

We don’t want anything here that reminds people of you or your family…

“Get rid of clutter.”

“What’s clutter?”

“Keep just one set of pots and pans in the kitchen and a few days’ worth of clothes in the closet.”

“We want this house to look like it’s ready for the perfect lifestyle…”

“But how could anybody live in a house like that?”

“We don’t want to show them a house they could really live in…”

“We want to show them a house for the life they wish they could live…”

“Everything has to look perfect to get a fast transaction.”

Before we make a transaction on our worldly house…we have to make everything look perfect…

But Jesus says we can come to Him while our spiritual house is still loaded down with all our imperfections…

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

If God waited for us to be perfect before He offered us His grace…

it wouldn’t be grace…

He offers His Grace out of love…

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

How should we respond to His love?

How should we respond knowing that no matter what we face in this world…

No matter our imperfections…

God’s grace and love are ours forever…

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.  1 Chronicles 16:34
