Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

The Pull of Love

An unseen force pulls him through the crowd…

God reaching out

Hundreds of people move in all directions in the busy lobby…

He stands out above them all.

Literally.

He is nearly seven feet tall.

His body leans forward, his arm stretches down toward the unseen source of his propulsion.

Curious to see what great force powers him forward, I move closer…

At the end of his long arm is a small girl, about two years old and maybe three feet tall.

“Daddy!” she calls and keeps moving….

He smiles  and follows her tug…

Follows the pull of love…

With love and trust, His little girl clings tightly to his hand…

She moves in the middle of the large crowd without a trace of fear…

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear  1 John 4:18

All because she holds the hand of the father who loves her…

Just as we can hold the outstretched hand of the God of the universe…

And in grasping His hand…

Follow His pull of love …

God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.  1 John 4:16

A love He gives to us though we don’t deserve it…

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8

A love so great He sacrificed His own son to fulfill it…

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

A love which he only asks that we return…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.   Mark 12:30

And share with a  world hungry for love…

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”  John 13:34-35
