My post was lousy!
That’s what a friend said…
Ironic since the post began by commenting on a “lousy” sermon I had heard years ago in another state at another church.
“Are you telling me that my article about a lousy sermon is a lousy post?”
“Yes!” He said.
“Why is the post lousy?”
“Why did you think the sermon was lousy?”
“Because it sounded good, but it never told me how to apply it!”
“It’s the same with your post…”
Good question…
I didn’t offer a plan because I didn’t have one…
All writers and speakers have three point plans, right?
What would be the first step in my plan?
1. Make the decision to put God first…
Being busy makes us feel comfortable…
It makes us feel important…
It’s a big decision to throw it all away…
Eliminating it leaves a void in our lives.
We will want to fill that void… with new ways of being busy…
“I’ll volunteer more!”
“I’ll do more things for God!”
If we are serious about our decision, we’ll remember that “busy is busy”…
We’ll remember that if we worship our service more than we worship God…then God is still not first in our lives.
2. Ask God for his direction…
Turn to Him in prayer and Bible study…
Listen to what He says in those times…
3. Follow God…
And hearing Him, shouldn’t we follow what he says?
Wow! That’s a 3-point plan…
- Make the decision to Put God first
- Ask God for His guidance
- Follow what He says
But it’s not my three point plan…
It is God’s…
-
“…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…” Joshua 24:15
-
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you…Mathew 7:7
-
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. James 1:22

Brother, I see it this way to apply God first
If god is my life, there is no first second or third, for God would be in everything I do or say, and it would not be me that did or said, as this is what Christ showed us in his walk, by Faith. I see that as the example in how to rest in the midst of
