Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

Seeing God in Our Everyday Lives

My granddaughter starts to giggle…

Seeing God

“Pops,” she says, “you’ve got a mustache!”

“Is it a real mustache, Pops?”

“When did you get it?”

“Why do you have a mustache?”

I’ve had a mustache so long, I forget I have a mustache.

She’s never seen me without a mustache.

Maybe that’s why she never saw it…

It was always there.

Perhaps we notice least the things we see the most.

Could that be why seeing God is sometimes hard?

Why sometimes I think he’s ignoring me?

Why sometimes it feels like he has left me?

Even though He has promised…

… “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” Hebrews 13:5

Since God doesn’t lie..

God is not human, that he should lie, Numbers 23:19

And God doesn’t change…

“…I the Lord do not change; Malachi 3:6

Then He must be with us always and everywhere…

… the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Maybe His closeness is the very reason seeing God is difficult sometimes…

How can we start seeing God?

Perhaps we have only to open our eyes and our hearts…

To recognize His presence…

To start seeing God in the world…

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.  Romans 1:20

To start Seeing God in our lives…

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

To see God in all we do…

Knowing that nothing will ever separate us from Him…

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
