“…unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven…” – Matthew 18:3
“Go?”
Our granddaughter is 19 months old and loves to ride in the car.
“Go?” She asks.
Eyes wide, a great big smile on her face, she asks again, “Go?”.
“Yes. Let’s Go!”
“Go, Go!” she answers and runs to the door.
She has no idea where she is going….
But she believes it will be someplace good.
She’s ready to take a first step without knowing where it will lead.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. – Martin Luther King
Children…unable to provide everything they need…Ready to have faith in someone else for their provision.
Facing the unknown with expectancy, not fear…
Could childlike faith be part of what Jesus means when he says…
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 18:3
When do we exchange childlike faith in God for faith in ourselves?
Why are we so eager to leave behind the simple faith of a child…
Why do we consider it an insult to be called childish…
When the greatest gift we could ever receive is to be called a child of God?
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are… 1 John 3:1
When the greatest privilege we could ever exercise…
Is to turn to the God of the Universe…and call Him “Father”…
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.”Matthew 6:9-13
