Through Gods Eyes …
“Stop the car!” She shouts…
Her husband turns into the driveway…
“What happened to our house?”
“What do you mean?” her husband asks….
“It’s gray!”
“Our house is gray!”
“When did you paint the house gray?”
He smiles.
“I’m not sure,” he says, “Five years ago, or maybe six.”
She laughs.
“I know you called it gray,” she says.
“But I always thought it was brown with a little grayish tint.”
They both laugh.
Inside the house, she stops and stares at the kitchen walls.
“Wow, I really like this color,” she says. “Five years ago?”
He nods, and they both laugh again.
She walks through the house looking at it with new eyes.
Back in the kitchen, she looks at the ceiling.
“What’s that brown spot?” she asks.
“Remember the roof leak I told you about?”
“The one I haven’t been able to find?”
“I thought it was just a little spot! I guess I’m seeing with new eyes!” she says.
Less than two days ago…
She had cataract surgery,
Now she’s amazed at how different…
How much brighter…
The whole world looks.
She wonders….
How would the world look if she had truly clear vision?
If she could see the world through Gods eyes?
… the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
But how can we see the world…
How can we see ourselves…
How can we see God Himself…
Through Gods eyes ?
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
Love is how we see through Gods eyes …
For it is through eyes of love that God looks at the world…
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
