I cannot write this post…
I cannot concentrate.
I know what I want to say…
The Bible verse swirls around in my brain…
But I cannot write this post, because other things swirl around in there, too!
For instance, my to-do list…
The high priority list for the day is over a dozen items long
Oops… that reminds me…
I have to send an email. Now. (Well, actually 30 minutes ago. Back soon…)
Ok, I’m back.
But I’m still distracted.
And that’s ironic…
Because here’s the Bible verse that is swirling in my head…
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12
A verse about priorities…
And today I’m having a hard time setting priorities.
Guess that makes it the perfect verse for today.
“Teach us to number our days…”
To know that our days on earth are few…
Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4
That our days with you, God have no number…
Teach us then to spend our days honoring what will last…
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Mark 8:36
Give us a heart of wisdom…
A heart that knows wisdom comes from no one but You…
All wisdom comes from the Lord, and so do common sense and understanding. Proverbs 2:6-8
A heart that yearns for approval from you and you alone…
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
A heart that knows there is but one priority around which to order all of our days…
…seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness… Matthew 6:33
