As he said to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15, that prediction that was not ever understood, then. Today after the risen Son is able now to be understood, once Father approves as he did of Son by raising him from the dead.
The new life begins from day one of belief to Father personally between you and him. Eph 1:13

As we both learn daily from one another and others, as Father in risen Son leads us through it all. I have seen things different than from prior, thought this or that way, and Father revealed truth over it, and so I turn from those mistakes as have made many a times all in past as fast as I made them.
So all I can do is as Paul reveals this to us in Phil 3:1-20, chewing these verses down one or two at a time, waiting for them to be disgusted from Father and see this truth in his love over all thought.
