Top 6 Bible Verses-Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Matthew 6:5-8
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Luke 18:1
And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.
Psalm 34:17

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
James 5:13-18
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Colossians 4:2. and Luke 18:1. I love he verses above as they are succinct. They explain a lot without rambling on. They are easier to remember. Yes they will now remain my favourites now. Thank you. I look forward to your posts everyday.

And thank you Bob for taking time out to reply. I do look forward to your posts everyday. It is heartening to think that the Bible can help us make sense of our world. I never thought it possible that the Old Testament could be so relevant to how we approach our problems and find solutions from a series of writings over 2000 years old maybe more! It is a guide to concious living.
I would like to think there is wisdom abound. Perhaps our politicians and world leaders could live by it.
I digress. I am so glad I signed up with Everyday Servant. Thank you again. Keep them coming because I would certainly miss them

I absolutely agree with your thoughts about the relevance of the Old Testament. The Bible is all one story of God’s love and His plan to reconcile with Humanity. Hard to understand without reading the whole story!
