You don’t hear much preaching on this these days. I remember as a child hearing the constant refrain to “come out from the world” and to not conform to its patterns.
I get the legalism that was occurring and it was necessary to break that legalism with a solid message of grace, but the pendulum has swung so far the other way that it is now a strong belief of many that to win the world we need to look exactly like it and to do the things it does without “offending”.
Mr Miagi was right when he told Danielson to seek balance. We need a return to a healthy balance of grace and truth. We can’t look like the world, act like the world, or be like the world. The ironic thing is that is when people really begin to notice and we’ll see people change.
