What does God want?
Frustrated, he closes his Bible and starts to pray…
He has a big decision to make…
Should he leave her current job?
Should he start her own business?
Or should he stay?
It will be risky to leave…
There won’t be a guaranteed paycheck.
But the new business is in a field he knows well…
A field he feels called to serve.
What does God want?
He types the question into a search engine…
“What does God want-Bible verses”
What comes back from his search?
What does God want?
For us to Love God…
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.
To love others…
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40
To live a life of justice and kindness and humility…
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
To be with Him in all we do….
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Then he finds this verse…
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“That’s no help,” he thinks…
He knows that either decision will require courage.
Either action could lead to worldly success or failure…
Either decision will be a step of faith.
“Maybe.” he thinks, faith is what God values…
Maybe it is our faith that pleases Him most…
Maybe it is our faith that God wants most…
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6
