Her father died…
Unexpectedly.
She was devastated.
And totally overwhelmed by what followed…
The detail of establishing his estate…
But somehow she got through almost all of it…
Final bills were paid…
Utilities in his house turned off…
Assets transferred to the estate….
Everything settled.
Except for the house.
Week after week went by….
No one was interested.
She prayed.
And prayed.
“Please God, bring a buyer for the house”
Then one day the realtor called.
A buyer had made an offer….
A cash offer.
The only problem?
The buyer wanted to close in three days….
Three days?
Documents to review…
Documents to signs…
Title work to be brought up to date…
All while working at a very busy job…
The list seemed endless…
She prayed again…
“Thanks, God…”
“But really…”
“Now?“
“In three days?”
“Strange,” she thought, “God gave me what I asked for…”
“But I’m still stressed and worried.”
How would she get everything done?
Somehow, she did.
The house sold.
The estate closed.
She couldn’t understand how it all got done…
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
How strange, she thought…
She had trusted God enough to ask for what she wanted…
But when He gave it to her…
At the very moment when she should have been giving glory and thanks to Him…
Give thanks to the God of heaven… Psalm 136:26
She gave in to worry and anxiety…
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Forgetting she did not have to rely on her own strength…
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me… Philippians 4:13
Maybe God was teaching her a lesson…
A lesson in trusting Him…
Trusting when God says no…
Trusting when God says yes …
Trusting God everywhere, always…
… Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Amen. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
Amen!
When we pray we have to trust that God knows what He is doing and be ready for His Yes or No. Ultimately, He knows best…
Amen!
