“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; Luke 10:27
“Where,” the interviewer asked the famous actor, “Do you keep your Oscar?”
She probably expected an answer like…
“In my den…”
“On a shelf…”
“Above the fireplace…”
“At my office…”
Maybe the actor would give an unexpected answer…
An answer that would make the interview go viral.
Maybe he would say something like, “My Oscar? I’m not sure. I think it’s in a box in the back of the closet.”
The actor paused for a second…
He smiled slowly, raised his hand and tapped his head with his finger, as if to say, “Right here.”
What he valued most could not be contained in a box or kept on a shelf or a in a cabinet…
He would carry it with him wherever he went.
No matter what he faced in the world, the Oscar would always be with him.
Where do you keep what you value most?
Where do you keep God?
Do you leave him in church?
Or on a bookshelf with your Bible?
Or do you keep God in your mind, so that you will see him no matter what you face in this world?
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind… Romans 12:2
Do you treasure God enough to keep Him in your heart?
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21
Do you love him enough to keep Him not only in your mind and your heart, but also in your soul?
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; Luke 10:27
For if you do, then He will give you His strength to do what he commands…
…’Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Luke 10:27
