I lost my cell phone…
Again.
Time to check the usual places…
Kitchen counter?
Not There.
Family room sofa?
Not there either.
Between the sofa cushions?
Another “No”.
There was a sure way to find it…But my ego resisted…
Using the “sure-find” method was like giving up…
It was admitting defeat.
But I was running out of time, so I used the “find-my-phone” app on my IPad.
It showed what I already knew.
The phone was in our house.
I pressed the button to play a sound on the phone.
Funny…
The sound was very near.
Where could it be?
Oh….
In my pocket.
“Well,” I thought, “this is going to be a great day.”
I left the house wondering when the next bad thing would happen.
Somehow nothing horrendous had happened by lunch, but I felt calamity racing toward me.
Waiting for the food, I clicked on Facebook and found this picture in my news feed:
“Optimist” was not the word to describe me that day…
I had lived the day timidly, taking one step at a time…
When I could have been dancing with God.
“We played the flute for you, and you did not dance…” Mathew 11:17
All day He had been closer to me than my lost cell phone.
All I needed to do was…
Admit my weaknesses….
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…Romans 3:23
Recognize they don’t matter…
for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
move toward Him in faith…
…without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6
And live in the gift of His grace…
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God…Ephesians 2:8
Ever had a day when it was tough to live in faith and grace?
