PLUS… an everyday story about ONE THING that makes it easy to forget to thank Him…

Here’s the story…

It is a beautiful day…

Too beautiful to stay inside…

So I go out…

“I’ll trim the bushes,” I think…

I trim…

And listen to the birds singing nearby…

Trim some more…

And feel the perfect breeze…

Look up at the top of the bushes…

And see the blue sky peeking through the branches…

Then I step back…

To admire my own work…

Looking at my perfect trimming job…

Only it’s not.

Perfect, that is.

Is that a spot I missed?

I trim it down….

There’s another spot that needs trimming!

Uh-Oh…

I trimmed it just a little too much!

What to do now?

Trim the whole bush down another couple of inches…

To make it all even?

Or…

Wait for God to grow new leaves in the low spot…

My choice is clear…

To focus on my own less-than-perfect efforts…

Or to return my focus to what God has done…

And will do.

And to thank Him…

To thank Him for every drop of sunlight…

For every green leaf…

Every pitch-perfect bird song…

Each breath of breeze-blown air.

To thank Him always. For every perfect gift from His hand.
