Getting Close to God …
The table is empty…
A woman sits down…
A man sits opposite her…
Two teenage girls walk up chattering to each other and sit down
A younger girl and boy run to the table…
The girl gets there first…
Climbs on the last chair…
And leans into the center of the table
Everybody talking at once…
Everybody leaning in to hear…
To talk…
To be near each other.
The little boy…
Left without a chair…
Wants to get close to the center of their love…
But not sure what to do…
He climbs up the side of the table.
The table tips.
The boy holds on.
One degree more…
And the table will fall.
Dad lifts the boy into his lap…
The table steadies.
And the laughter…
And the love continue.
We search for the secret of getting close to God
Want to be in the center of His love…
But we are not sure what to do…
Not sure what mountains we have to climb to get close to God …
Forgetting that we are already close to God
…for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5…
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
That He’s waiting for us to see Him…
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20
Waiting for us to ask for His Wisdom…
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5
And most of all…
Waiting for us to ask for His Grace…
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8
What’s the secret to getting close to God?
Maybe getting close to God starts with simply believing…
…for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18

Love it, even not deserving it, thanking God Father and Son Jesus for it.
This post reminded me of Kennedy, when was President. There are pictures of him in the White House, with his Son crawling on the ground around him, while he was conducting business at hand.
To me that is the connection we have with Father by his Son Jesus for us to be in and not left out

Howard, what a great example of the connection we have with ABBA God.
I learned, that from Bob George on people to people years ago. He is gone now, a great mentor to me. Who encouraged me to read the Bible for me to hear God personally. He was on people to people ministries. Today it has changed to BasicGospel.org. This is when my new life as born again started off to see truth over error I was in. Still have it all around me in this world as the power of the spirits in the air, in error to God Father and Son, trying to break in, by getting back in thought of flesh and blood.

I learned much from Bob George, always heard from him not to make him my object of Faith. He was just a vessel used by God to lead us free in this world we are in, by Faith to God’s done work first. Without that, I would not have survived, to me that is truth. I have physically died toooooooooooooooooooo many times, to not stand in belief to see, not that I see, it is truthfully God Father and Son that see, not me.

Howard, your reminder about not putting faith in any earthly person is so timely given what is happening in churches around the world. As God reminds us… not one person is righteous… No not one. (or we would not need the gift of Grace.) I have sadly seen people put their faith in earthly leaders …and then lose their faith in God when those leaders let them down.
Bob. me as well, have seen it, and been caught up in it. there are so many views, and I am starting to see only God’s view, in the spirit, as I still to this day see to not think I have gained, even as Paul said that after promoting himself in flesh and blood better that those that think they got it, in Phil 3, he points this out. verses 1-11, then goes on in 12 and reminds us, and himself, not that he has gained, because right before that he said I gave all that up, so I might win Christ.
So learning to put and keep what is behind me as behind me, I need God period and am glad now for buffeting me, whenever I need it as said in 2 Cor 12:7-10
To think I know, even if I do know is ignorance to the truth.
Even Jesus said it too? What???? I hear from others.
I say it again, as in Matthew 19, before being sanctified, a person called him good master, and Jesus replied why call me good, only my Father is good. I think this is for us to walk new in Faith given us to do it.
Just as he did, before he was revealed as sanctified in being risen for us to be also in Spirit with him, once Father approves
For anyone can go out and about, doing a good show and tell, and even Christ said go ahead, to the Disciples when they wanted to stop others that were not of them. Jesus told them let them go, they are preaching my name. A divided Kingdom will not stand.
And I think Jesus said that, because as long as him name to for salvation is being preached and people are hearing it, Father he knew was coming here to earth after him inspirit and Truth.
So who does the saving? Father does it, he draws us to him to turn to him in belief to him in risen Son for us.
There is no work of my own to do this, for me to think so is n it Faith, that is self work, washed cleaned as if is real.

Thanks I just got these thoughts about it is all finished and done by Father for us to turn to belief in risen Son where new live is given, not earned by this world or anyone else but by Son’s done work, once for everyone to believe and harm no one no more, or ever take away anyone’s free will, as said in Psalms 1
Do not stand in the way of unbelievers, let them be to see, what they might be doing or not is not beneficial, as Father is everywhere in Spirit and Truth all the time 😊
