God of New Beginnings

“Do you know what day this is?”

Caroline New Beginning

“Yes,” her mama answered.

“It’s your first day of preschool.”

“Are you excited?”

“Well actually,” said our granddaughter in a voice sounding much older than three…

“I’m a little nervous.”

“Remember,” her mama said, “we visited your school and you liked it…”

“You met your teachers… and you liked them.”

“You’ll have fun at preschool.”

And she did.

But the beginning was scary.

If new beginnings are scary and difficult…

Why does God make us go through them?

Maybe it’s because He wants us to have faith…

Faith that He knows what’s on the other side of a new beginning…

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

Maybe it’s because he wants to remind us of the power of His Spirit that lives in us…

…the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power…  2 Timothy 1:7

Or because he wants us to know He has always been the God of new beginnings…

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Genesis 1:1

He wants us to know He is still the God of new Beginnings

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  Isaiah 43:19

A God Whose love is new every day new…

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end… they are new every morning…  Lamentations 3:22-23

A God who offers us the ultimate new beginning…

…Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven…   1 Peter 1:3

Perhaps all the new beginnings God asks us to undertake are training events…

Training events designed to help us grow…

Until we recognize and accept His offer of the greatest new beginning ever created…

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people… Titus 2:11
