Write a Caption For This Mother’s Day Picture

Can you write a caption…

Mother's Day Picture

For this Mother’s Day picture?

We were at my daughter’s house on Mother’s Day …

Someone shouted, “Jackson is in the dishwasher!”

“Let me get a picture,” I called out…

“Oh no!” My daughter laughed…

“You’re going to blog about that picture!”

I hadn’t really thought about it… but since she mentioned it…

“Well,” I replied, “Well, no.  I won’t write about it…”

She didn’t believe me…

So I promised.

But I didn’t promise YOU wouldn’t write about it….

So leave a caption for the dishwasher photo in comments…

Here’s one more picture from Mother’s Day at my daughter’s house…

family

The women in our family…

From the right … My daughter and her two kids, my wife and my son-in-law’s mother.

They are the heart of our family.

I hope when you think of your mother…

The first word you think of is “love”…

“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.” – Stevie Wonder

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  1 Corinthians 13:4-7

As for us husbands and fathers…

Father Theodore Hesburgh reminded us of our role in the family…

“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” – Theodore Hesburgh

One last Mother’s Day Bible quote…

Moms…keep this one handy for when you tell your children to do something…

They ask you, “Why?”… and you want to say, “Because God said so!”

(Just kidding. I think.)

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”–which is the first commandment with a promise– “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” –Ephesians 6:1-3
