I’ve left the beach…
But the beach has not left me….
I carry its sand…
In my shoes…
In the beach chairs…
In the cooler.
If past predicts future…
I’ll open some piece of beach gear next spring only to be showered with this year’s sand.
Too bad other things don’t stick to me as tightly as beach sand…
Courage for instance…
Why doesn’t courage stick to me like beach sand when I face enemies or problems?
Perhaps I forget what God says about the real source of courage…
Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
When I need strength to fight temptations…
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure…1 Corinthians 10:13
When I face money problems…
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ” Never will I leave you ; never will I forsake you.”
God says, ” Never will I leave you …”
Never.
He sticks closer to us than beach sand…
He lives in the very depths of our souls.
Yet how can I believe He lives in my soul when I know I have sinned?
Do I forget His promises again?
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
Do I think the stench of my sin keeps me from Him?
…we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15
We are the aroma of Christ for one reason only…
The great love of God, through which He gives us His grace…
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
