A true story of redemption- Redemption after the fall …
She sits in church…
The pastor talks…
But she barely hears what he says…
Her mind focused elsewhere…
Focused on what she’s just learned from her son.
Then the pastor says one word…
One word that focuses her on every word that follows…
“Rescue,” says the pastor…
“God offers us rescue through Jesus.”
She heard that word just hours ago from her son…
“Rescue…”
He works installing elevators in tall buildings.
“I never told you, Mom,” he said on the phone.
“But a while ago, I fell…”
“…I fell five stories down an empty elevator shaft.”
“They weren’t sure I’d live.”
“I didn’t tell you…
“Because I didn’t want you to know.”
“I haven’t visited….”
“Because I didn’t want you to see.”
“I didn’t want to scare you.”
“I’m better now…
But I have a dream most nights…
“I hear somebody whispering one word…”
“Rescue.”
“I don’t think it’s about being rescued from that elevator shaft.
“Mom, you know how you’ve been praying for me?”
“Praying I would believe in Jesus?”
“I think that’s the kind of rescue the dream is about.”
The Mom’s thoughts turn back to the pastor.
“Rescue,” the pastor says again…
“We look for rescue when there’s nothing left…”
“When we have fallen so far from God…”
“That there is nothing we can do on our own…”
“When our only hope lies beyond ourselves…”
“Rescue,” the mom thinks…
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
“Redemption…”
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17
“Redemption after the fall …”
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
One thought on “Redemption After The Fall”
In my and everyone’s adversity(s) God is there, still in care, as we go through these happening s here on earth. Even though at the times of hoping through these things here on earth in this valley of the shadow of death for each of us here.
Can and do by belief get to see, they may be in troubles, yet knowing from with in to outside of them, Father God and Son that is risen for them, will somehow get them through it all.
Not really knowing how, yet still making plans to make it, and seeing even if those plans do not come through, God has not forsaken us in them, even though thought tries to invade us in our mindsets.
The enemy is the one that knows how to try implant thought(s) in us. How? I do not know, nor care how. I see to learn to discern them, as I learn to listen from within, where Father in Spirit and Truth is at to protect me, you and all that Father loves, And Father loves us all otherwise
why would Col. 1:21-23 be so, Can we stop the arguing from with in having thoughts of despair?
No I can’t, I see this now, to not try to stop them, just see them in awareness of them. That right there causes me at least to walk away and it not get a hold as has in past as if this were me, when it is not me, it is the powers of the air seeping in me
As is talked of in 1 John
1 John 4:6 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
So learning Matthew 10:16-20
And Luke 21:14-15
Bob thank you fro all the reminders of God’s true love for us, that does not always seem as is, when goin g through adversities
