Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

Seeing God in His Creation

Seeing God in His Creation …

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made… Romans 1:20

It is a cold summer day…

Seeing God in His creation

The beach is nearly empty…

The only sounds…

Seagulls overhead…

The wind…

Waves breaking on the shoreline…

I watch the waves…

Feel the wind…

Hear the staccato call of the gulls…

And sense the majesty and power of God…

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1

I sit in wonder and awe…

Seeing God in his creation…

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made… Romans 1:20

The next day is bright…

Sunny …

Hot…

The beach…

So empty yesterday…

Is packed with people today…

seeing God in His Creation

Families…

Children…

Teenagers.

Running…

Shouting…

Playing Music…

Occupying every bit of beach space with umbrellas and tents and blankets.

I look around.

I am annoyed…

What happened to the quiet beach…

Where nothing got in the way of seeing God in His creation ?

And then I realize…

God created people too.

He created us all…

In His image.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.  Genesis 1:27

I leave the beach reminded

That seeing God in His creation…

Means seeing Him in every person I meet…

Even the one who cut in front of me in the grocery line…

The one who took my turn at the 4 way stop…

The stranger who yelled at me when I sorta, kinda made an illegal left turn the other day …

Even the person with different viewpoints about politics or God himself…

How can I look at people without seeing God in His creation?

God didn’t just create us all…

He loves us all…

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

And How can I claim to love God …

If seeing God in his creation …

I respond with anything less than love?

We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.  1 John 4:19-21
