Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

The Love of God

What is this picture?

The Love of God

Can you guess?

It’s a five-year-old’s version of a reindeer.

Really.  I’m not kidding.

Look closely…

Notice the red nose at the bottom of the picture?

Now look at the top of the picture…

Do you see what looks like telephone poles on top of a muddy hill?

Those are reindeer antlers…

Antlers complete with holiday lights.

This reindeer will be guided not only by the light from his nose…

But the light from his antlers.

I love this picture…

I love it because I know the artist. Personally.

I know she put her whole heart into her artistic effort.

Because I know those things…

This is one of my favorite pictures.

I doubt, however, that the local art critic will write a glowing review of this reindeer.

And there’s little chance the local TV station will feature this great work of art on the evening news.

You’ve got to be a parent (Or grandparent) to see the value of this work.

You must view it through the eyes of love to see its true worth.

Only a parent could love it.

How fortunate we are that through Christ Jesus, we become children of God…

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 1:12

For it takes the love of God to see our hearts, not our works…

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.  Proverbs 21:2

IT takes the love of God to see a worth beyond what we deserve…

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

It takes the love of God to give is what we could never earn…

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  1 John 4:10
