Christian Devotional-Stories and Bible verses about the presence of God in our lives

Remember God

Then take care lest you forget the Lord Deuteronomy 6:12

Spring…

remember God

The blooms on the trees already falling to the ground…

remember God

This spring will vanish.

Just as last summer vanished into fall…

Remember God

And fall into winter…

remember God

But we will remember the spring.

Hold it in our hearts…

In our souls.

Babies will grow into children…

Children into adults…

grown up kids

But we will remember the babies…

We will remember the children…

We will hold them in our hearts…

Hold them in our souls.

The best days…

The days we wish would never end…

will become memories….

Because only God can say “I AM”…

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Exodus 3:14

We will hold those best days in our hearts…

In our souls.

But what about the bad days?

The worst days can become memories, too.

Burning our hearts….

Corroding our souls…

Unless our hearts are too full of love to hold the fire of hurt…

Our souls so awash in passion for God that nothing can eat away at them…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul…Mark 12:30

It won’t be easy to stay focused on God’s love.

God tells us it will take effort…

He tells us we must love Him not only with our hearts and souls, but with….

…all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

Where will we find the strength?

From God himself…

…fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

From God, who will be with us always…

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

From God who tells us to trust his strength, not our weakness…

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

From the one true God, unchanging, immutable, God forever…

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”  Revelation 1:8

From the God who tells us the most important thing to remember is God Himself…

Then take care lest you forget the Lord  Deuteronomy 6:12
